KRISTA HOFFMAN

LEAD DESIGNER

Hi! I'm Krista! I live and work in Seattle, Washington. I own and operate, with my business partner Emily Gable, Hoffman Gable Design. I've been designing for fun since I was a little girl and professionally for over sixteen years. I have a 4 year degree in residential interior design from the Seattle Art Institute.  

I'm a tidy freak. My friends joke and tell me they're gonna bury me with a vacuum. I'm an avid year-round boater and I also love designing interiors on boats. You could call it my side hustle! I also love warm summer nights, painting, music, deep conversations, wheel of fortune (yes, I love it), white stucco anything, delicious cocktails, mood lighting and (this is embarrassing, but who cares) I love cheese ball rom-coms. One of my favorite rules, and my clients can tell you this, EVERY light should have a dimmer!

Now for the hard part. I'm a grieving mother. I lost my son Paul in October of 2022. This profession is what keeps me going. If I couldn't create, I wouldn't be here. When this first happened, I didn't see myself doing much of anything anymore; but instead I decided to do the opposite and throw myself into my work and my passion. My journey will forever be a hard long path, but through design I see beyond the grief. I feel him everyday. Paul's passing has made my passion for interior design explode beyond what I thought was imaginable. Knowing that he would want me to keep going makes me want to do more than just survive.

EMILY GABLE

OPERATIONS

Hi, I'm Emily Gable, proud partner of Hoffman Gable Design. I’m originally from the interior of BC, Canada, but have lived in Seattle, Washington since 2010. I have a husband and two beautiful children who keep things busy and make every day interesting!

I have a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a marketing designation, and have navigated through diverse professional roles, including project management, business process analysis and small business development. I focus more on the operational activities in our design business, but Krista and I always work closely to collaborate and ensure we are putting forth the best possible products and solutions. I love solving design problems and have a passion for both the artistic and logistical aspects of creating beautiful, functional, holistically driven spaces. 

I love alpine skiing, playing ice hockey (much better than watching), spending time at the lake during the summer (especially drinking coffee while overlooking the water), warm air, beaches, listening to audio books, reading about the business of design, the feeling of being productive, a good BBQ and hanging with friends and family. I also love to travel and explore new places. 

As the years seem to speed by, I am working very hard on creating balance in my life so that I can enjoy the hours with my kids, while also engaging in the exciting and busy days of our design business. I am passionate about the value of design as a way to improve not only our spaces, but also our lives.
